Operation Lone Star - Texans Supporting Our Troops thanks Gene Henry of Willowbrook Terrace Chapel and Queen Mum Alecia Barnes of the Red Hat Belles at The Terrace at Willowbrook for their generous donations that helped us send Christmas care packages to the troops overseas. Placques were presented to them by Spc. Enid Conley with the 810th MP Company whose unit received some of the packages, and she conveyed her unit's heartfelt thanks and gratitude for supporting them during their time in Iraq.

EAGLE SCOUT CANDIDATE
Derek Jones
Comes Through In A Big Way With
Care Packages For The Troops
Derek Jones from Houston, TX decided to support the troops in his quest to become an Eagle Scout. Derek organized a care package drive at several Wal-Mart stores and collected enough products to provide 75 flat-rate boxes to the troops. In addition to providing a whole truck full of care package items, he (with the support of his parents and fellow troop members) collected funds for postage to mail the packages as well. Operation Lone Star - Texans Supporting Our Troops applauds Derek's efforts in having such a successful drive and supporting the troops in a big way!
Thanks Derek and Congratulations on
completing your Eagle Scout Project!

Requested Items To Donate:
Keep in mind the Troops have to carry this stuff. Keep appropriate items small (travel-size, sample size, or individually wrapped) so it can fit in a pocket. Please note that homemade food items can not be sent due to military regulations. Single-serving and easy to open food items are best (as can openers and electricity are not always available).
